On my route i have to bike over the Colorado rocky mountains. Has anyone here done this. I would like a personal recollection of how past the temperature drops during the climb and what kind of clothes should i wear for this. For instance, was it cold enough to need a scarf?

That of course, depends on time of year. Mid June thru August, you should be fine with normal bike wear. Even then, take at least a wind breaker to throw on for rolling off the peaks, and some warm clothing for nights.
Even in Sept and April, the weather can deteriorate very quickly to miserable conditions.
Be prepared for anything. I have been snowed on in August on Squaw Pass, and Loveland Pass. More than once too. Sometimes it’s over 70 up there too. Temperature at low elevation are no indication of what you might get at 10,000 ft. Great riding. Have fun!!!
