Look for any shoe that’s made with a Gore-Tex lining. Merrell is good, but there are others. I get “cheap” Merrells from Ebay — and they’re actually brand new.
I’ve been searching for this same shoe my whole life. I’ve since decided that footwear is far too important to try to find one shoe to cover too many things. For example, if you have flat pedals, you need a shoe w/o much tread. But for hiking, you need tread. And for boating, you need a different rubber compound altogether.
Biking shoes are needed for biking; clip in and you really get an increase in efficiency.
Trails: you need a lightweight, uninsulated boot for warm weather, and an insulated boot for cool/cold weather.
Boating requires nonslip, softer rubber.
