Usually you have to buy the cleats separate as their are several different kinds, and the shoe manufacturer has no way of knowing what you like.
The cleats never come with the shoes. 99% of the time they come with the pedals since the cleat is specific to the pedal, and not the shoe. Most cleats will fit any shoe these days. You can usually buy the cleats by themselves if you need to, but if you buy new pedals they will most likely come with the cleats also.
The cleats will come with the pedals. You can go to the local bike shop and get new cleats. Take your pedal off and take it with you to make sure you get the right ones
The shoes usually come with clips.
One bit of advice if you’ve not used spd’s before, make sure they are set up so you can easily unclip until you get used to riding with them!
no they dont come with the shoes, they come with the pedals, the cleats should be in the shoes ur uncle uses though. i was just at the bike shop the other day and cleats are about $25
hope i helped
Cleats do not come with shoes, they come with your pedals. You can however go to the LBS and buy replacement cleats but you will need to Specify Model: (SH-51) black, 4 degrees float Single Release or (SH-55 or 56) silver, 4 degrees float with multi directional release.(Shimano) If you’re using the pedals for Road use the black(SH-51) would be sufficient, if used for off road I’d go with the silver (SH-55) multi directional release for easy exit. Another thing to be aware of is that you can set the release tension on most SPD pedals for easy entry and exit. The screws are located on the front and rear of the pedal. You can buy your cleats at Nashbar http://www.nashbar.com/results.cfm?category=600078&subcategory=60001101or Performance Bike http://search.performancebike.com/search?p=Q&ts=custom&w=cleats for as little as $19.99 There are other makes you can buy cheaper like Richey or Forté Campus Replacement for $9.99 and they also will have to match your pedals, they are not compatible with Shimano.
Cleats are specific to the pedal, not the shoe. Ask your uncle if he has the cleats for the pedals he gave you. Otherwise you have to go and buy cleats for the make and model of pedal you have.
all of my shoes came with the cleats. and when i bought a new pair of expedo clip-in pedals they also came with new cleats.
